Diagrams of the Water Cycle 2017

Help yourself to understand the process of water cycle using these detailed illustration on diagrams of the water cycle that you can save for free! The water cycle explains the continuous movement of water on, above, and below the surface of the earth. It is also referred to as the hydrological cycle. The cycle describes the properties of water that make it undergo the various movements on the planet. The water cycle has nine main physical processes that create a continuous water movement on the planet. The first diagram of the cycle can be seen just below.

As you can see on the above posted diagram of the water cycle, the water cycle processes involve evaporation, condensation, precipitation, interception, infiltration, percolation, transpiration, runoff, and storage. There’s actually no starting point for the water cycle, but let’s begin in the oceans. The sun, which drives the water cycle, heats water in the oceans. Some of it evaporates as vapor into the air; a relatively smaller amount of moisture is added as ice and snow sublimate directly from the solid state into vapor. Rising air currents take the vapor up into the atmosphere, along with water from evapotranspiration, which is water transpired from plants and evaporated from the soil. The vapor rises into the air where cooler temperatures cause it to condense into clouds. Take a look at the following diagrams to see the illustrations of what we’re talking about.

Remember, the hydrological cycle is an incessant processĀ  which has no beginning nor end. The transition of water from the gaseous composition of the atmosphere include intricate process; through the water bodies such as oceans, lakes, rivers; passage through the soil, rocks and underground waters; and later returns into the atmosphere.
