Mollier Diagrams to Print

A handy of free and printable Mollier diagrams have been prepared for you in high definition! The Mollier diagram is a graphic representation of the relationship between air temperature, moisture content and enthalpy, and is a basic design tool for building engineers and designers. In addition, it is a graph showing the enthalpy of a substance as a function of its entropy when some physical property of the substance, as temperature or pressure, is kept at a specified constant value. The diagrams can be seen in the following image.

The diagram was created in 1904, when Richard Mollier plotted the total heat against entropy. At the 1923 Thermodynamics Conference held in Los Angeles it was decided to name, in his honor, as a “Mollier diagram” any thermodynamic diagram using the Enthalpy h as one of its axes. On the diagram, lines of constant pressure, constant temperature and volume are plotted, so in a two-phase region, the lines of constant pressure and temperature coincide. Thus, coordinates on the diagram represent entropy and heat. To know more about these details, check out the following diagrams.

This diagram has a series of constant temperature lines, constant pressure lines, constant quality lines, and constant volume lines. The Mollier diagram is used only when quality is greater than 50% and for superheated steam. For any state, at least two properties should be known to determine the other unknown properties of steam at that state. It is advisable to use Steam-tables or Mollier chart directly for easy and accurate estimation of the properties of steam, such as pressure, temperature, specific volume, enthalpy, entropy etc., which we have calculated by different relations for water/steam in different states under steam  generation section.

The constant pressure and constant temperature lines in the Mollier diagram are referred to as isobars and isotherms, respectively. All these diagrams are free to be saved and printed, just click on the image of the diagram to enlarge and save it.
