Vacuum Diagrams

Below is a list of all vacuum diagrams, to find what you are looking for, firstly make sure you look at the correct diagram for your engine. All of the diagrams are printable and can be directly printed to your browser. Vacuum is caused by the engine “inhaling” the fuel/air mixture when it is running. The intake manifold is between the carburetor, or air box (fuel injected), and the engine.

1967 Mustang Vacuum Diagrams

Vacuum diagram above is from 1967 Mustang. Vacuum can be a source of energy, used to power/operate accessories such as the various air routing ‘doors’ that are part of your car’s heating, defrosting, and air conditioning system. Manifold vacuum is what the vacuum lines are connected to the manifold for. The vacuum lines then are routed to a number of different things on your engine, and other places in your car.

The vacuum routing is very minimal on a 67 and is shown in the electrical manual but doesn’t go into any specific details. The chassis manual does show specifics on the vacuum routing for the automatic transmission modulator valve.
