A Venn diagram is a diagram representing mathematical or logical sets pictorially as circles or closed curves within an enclosing rectangle (the universal set), common elements of the sets being represented by the areas of overlap among the circles. In a simpler way, this diagram works as a way of picturing relationships between different groups of things. The first diagram below is the two set type.

This example of Venn diagram involves two sets, territory invasion and target, represented here as two circles. The left circle, set territory invasion and the right circle is the target set. Each separate type of set can be imagined as a point somewhere in the diagram. The territory invasion can sometimes have targets, so then in both sets, they correspond to points in the region where the left and right circles overlap. Since the mathematical term for “a group of things” is “a set”, Venn diagrams can be used to illustrate set relationships. In the blank templates above, you can make and customize your Venn diagrams with your own sets. It can be anything.
